A distinguished restaurant in Belgravia gets the outside space it deserves thanks to Breezefree.
In addition to serving the best in Italian food in central London since 1984, Santini Restaurant in London’s Belgravia is also something of an A-list celebrity hangout. Its outside terrace area, however, had been somewhat neglected and no longer reflected the brand’s status.
Breezefree were chosen to be part of the restaurant’s 30-year anniversary refurbishment programme. The aim was to make the terrace area hospitable all year round. Replacing the small awnings that provided inadequate cover was a priority, as was protecting the site from the harsh winds that the location was prone to.
The initial idea of a roofed structure had to be revised, due to planning consents. Budgetary constraints were also paramount, and so a proposal was put forward to upcycle the old screens and to install replacement awnings. Breezefree paid great attention to details such as custom made arm-plates and a timber box for the awnings which were designed to fit in with the building’s façade. The area was then protected from the harsh winds with a striking combination of screens and planters. Branding was also added which was so effective that the venue was even able to remove its old signage.
The result is an outdoor area that is truly inviting and an accurate reflection of the restaurant’s reputation. An outdoor space that is worthy of the restaurant’s 30th anniversary celebrations.
