We were approached to transform the rear decked terrace of this lovely destination pub with stunning views on the Ridgeway in Enfield.
The design brief was to transform the open deck into a flexible semi-enclosed and secure space that would allow an extension of the interior decor, whilst very much retaining the sense of the outside.
With ancient trees surrounding the garden and views across fields, it is a truly lovely setting for this project. We set about designing a wooden pergola sensitive to the Arts and Crafts style of the main building, and enclosed the space with a flat retractable roof, full height sliding glass doors to the front, and completed the cosy feeling space with a lovely log burner, soft LED lighting in the roof, and infra red heaters.
In the summer the whole space is opened up and has proved to be a very popular lunchtime destination. In the wintertime the roof is closed, the doors are slid shut and the wood burner is fired up, creating a light, warm, and inviting event space for jolly winter parties, day or night.
