Illuminated pergola awning brings extra covers for outdoor dining
Charlotte’s W5, a restaurant awarded the Bib Gourmand in The Michelin Guide 2017, wanted to increase the number of covers at their new Ealing location by making use of space to the rear of the restaurant. They pride themselves on being a place for social dining; from coffee mornings and brunch with the family right through to date nights and celebratory dinners.
Whilst the initial enquiry was for large parasols, Breezefree’s proposal of a pergola awning was accepted, as the client decided they wanted something unique that could be used all year around. This allowed the restaurant to make functional use of their outdoor space and to create a visual impact whilst updating the image of the conservatory area.
The freestanding, motorised pergola awning provides 100% waterproof storm-resistant coverage with a retractable roof that opens and closes at the touch of a button. This created 39 sqm for extra covers at the restaurant. The integrated heating and lighting means the area can be utilised throughout the majority of the year, also providing a cosy and aesthetically pleasing atmosphere as darkness begins to fall.
Breezefree saw the project through planning permission until approved on behalf of the client with the project taking just six weeks from the date of order to completion.
